Birth Lodge Teachings
The colonial world has not been kind to our women. Our women and girls must be knowledgeable about their bodies, roles and responsibilities as life-givers and potential future mothers. I teach in the tradition taught to me by my grandmothers, aunties and my mother. This is a safe and judgement-free space, so women and girls can expect all the loving acceptance of a grandmother in discussing these sensitive topics.
Part of ensuring thriving communities is making sure our families are healthy and informed.
Womb cleansing
As women-identified people, most of us are also survivors of gender-based violence. This portion of my work focuses on the repressed trauma and negative energy that can linger in our bodies following sexual violence, or negative sexual encounters. It is based on healing modalities that my people have long believed in and is centred around moving that energy to promote holistic healing.
Though it is called "womb cleansing" this is not exclusively for womb carriers. If you are 2Spirit/Indigiqueer identifying as a woman or have had medical interventions with your womb, this is for you!
Women's teachings
We will also be exploring the relationship between epigenetics and traditional knowledge concerning generational strength, resilience and blood memory inherited from our grandmothers.
We will do work with ancestral healing and clearing to move forward as our most powerful selves. Our women are truly the backbone of our nations and we must reclaim our positions of influence!
